Hello folks. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chris, the screen name is pronounced EEBEN OHZEN, (and I will probably talk about where that comes from in the music forum), I am 41, lesbian, and been friends with Mushy for about a year now on other places on the interwebz. I know nothing-to-even-less about Manga, (never even heard of the term until meeting Mushy, I thought it was all just anime), so I won't be in those forums. I'll admit I haven't really explored this forum much yet. I signed up while on IM with Mushy, and have only read the Tori Amos thread. (Which was awesome!)
A bit about me.
I was born in Virginia, but raised in North Carolina. I lived in Florida for 6 and a half years and was never so happy to get away from a state. (No offense to anyone there. Just was a horrendous experience for me.) North Carolina isn't really a good fit for me either, despite it being my home state, yet I can't imagine living anywhere else. These mountains get in your blood, believe it or not.
I am a big time couch potato and love the computer with a passion that is probably very disturbingly unnatural. I have 5 cats that I am "Mama" to, but have no other maternal instinct of any kind.
I am also a major night owl. However, that will have to change soon as I am going to a day shift at work soon. Will I live? Only time will tell.
I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you. Anything else you would like to know about me, feel free to ask. ;D

Hi Azalee! Thank you for the welcome. I'm sorry, I should have clarified. The parts in the Tori Amos thread that were off topic were awesome. I am not real familiar with her music and - with very[/u] few exceptions - don't really like female singers. (Ironic, no?) Not sure why, really.

Hey Chris!
I mean, um...welcome stranger. *cough*
Like I said, there are other boards and stuff for you to visit. And this place is chaotic. We mostly talk about Spiral. Non-stop. >_>;

The parts in the Tori Amos thread that were off topic were awesome. *blinks, then bursts out laughing* Oh, then you're probably going to have a blast here. As Mushy-san said, we do tend to rant about Spiral and sometimes other stuff - like EVERYWHERE and ESPECIALLY in unrelated topics. ;D Aww, it's fine if you don't actually particularly like her (even though it does let me down a little but it's ok~)

Tah-pic? What is this "tah-pic" you speak of? ;D Sorry Azalee. I don't know what it is, but the female singing voice just does very little for me. The ones I do like sound very masculine. (With the exception of Amy Lee. I just love her voice.) But I am sure we'll still find lots of common ground. I have so much to say on the off topic material but so little time. Ugh. Work. Always getting in the way of a good time!

*cough* Greetings, then. I am the totally unoffended Florida-resident of the fandom, the otherwise utterly non-serious Skunky--seemingly token demented straight girl of the forum. *grins knowing that's bound to get comments*
Aside from Mushy, I'm also probably mostly responsible for getting totally off-topic.
if you sit around and read parts of the forum, you'll probably learn more about me than you'd ever like to. Aza-pon-pon's "Milady" to me, and apparently I'm a knight.
But since you are by far the msot senior person I've had contact with on teh interwebz, this makes you Chris-dono. *bow*
Never hesitate to throw things at me any time you please. (This fandom teaches you ALL about killer reflexes! *brick'd*)

Not sure that Chris is familiar with honorifics though. So I'll just drop in and say that "(name)-dono" is - I think - a very highly respectful form of addressing a person?
*doesn't ever use honorifics* I have a few friends that use them in their user names - Cross-chan, Tomacchi is Toma-chan someplaces - and I always just shorten it to Cross, Toma. Haha. I only use them when I'm feeling really playful (imitating a character, for instance), or I feel like trying to remember what the hell each one means. Because I think I'm going to learn Japanese after Korean and German.

-dono is basically only used by people like Kenshin. Supposedly it makes me humble. *snort* (I can dream, okay?) It puts you on standards of lordship/ladyship...
Sort of like pon-pon, except I tend to have a farsical time with her. (...With hankie dropping and fornicating of the worlds smartest ridless children. Oh, and I also tell her she's made of chocolate and so is the rest of her country, and so give a terrible name to Americans everywhere...)
And what's this about concubines, Mushy-sama? THE VERY IDEA! I'm not that cool. I'm more like the stableboy that talks to the horses outside the palace and babbles the ears off all his human contacts. Honestly. if I hadn't drawn robertson fanart and expressed my impeccable razor-sharp wit on masochist you, you'd probably kick me entirely out of your pretty palace! XDDDD

As an American, I honestly can only relate chocolate to Belgium. I know NOTHING else of the place. Well, I know it's in Europe.
...at least the only thing I know about Poland doesn't involve sausages. It involves Chopin. >_>;
So gimme some credit. ='D
Humble? YOU?! No, I'm sure you know how to be humble but since I haven't met you in real life and I only know you through online...who knows? Hrm. Like me? I'm...well, actually, there really isn't a difference between me in real life and me online. I ramble a lot, I talk too much, I can be somewhat shy but it's mostly just the ice-breaking part, I say awkward things, et cetera...
Well now that I've found out you're having ribless children with Aza, I'm not sure I want to keep you as a concubine. That, and you weren't very useful, since I've been running off and having affairs with all my male servants. ^_~

I got MAJOR points with Aza-pon for knowing the native language was french. Unfortunately, I don't REMEMBER my french, so this was less useful.
AND POLKA. Polka, chopin, and sausages. Oh, and Ender Wiggin, supposedly. (Which fights for dominance with Chopin in my head insofar as which is a better contribution--fictional eight year old who destroys aliens? Or tragic pianist who writes 'effeminate" pieces? Hmm...decisions, decisions...)
I know, right? The only thing "humble" about me are my knowledge of the lyrics to "King of Spain." *snickers* Strangely enough, people still seem to think I have low self-esteem. (At which point I tell them I don't BELIEVE in self esteem, which causes all sorts of colorful confusions...) I'm pretty much the same IRL as I am here, except absolutley no swearing, a little less perversity, and explosive full-body gestures and crazed facial expressions. ^_^ I babble semi-coherently some of the time, supposedly.
Bah. the only babies I have are literary ones. (I've been told this is closer to laying eggs.) I still somehow had the idea that it was safer to be your wife than your eunuch, Mushy-sama. *grin* Unfortunately, I'm the mad-stable-boy, which means all your chariots run off fruit. (And have considerably more horsepower than horses...I think I got tired of shoveling manure.)
But I only "make characters" with creative, somewhat repressed young geek men. *snicker* (Oh tabletop RPGs...*sighs happily*) It would really rather ruin it for me if I made OC roleplay children with another chick. *cracks up* I'd miss half the stimulation of watching one in particular go out to smoke ever twenty minutes due to my vexing indecisiveness. (We've reached the point of being friends with detriments rather smoothly, I think...)

Well, thank you for the welcome Skunky! Mushy is right, I am not real familiar with honorifics, although I do feel flattered by that. I'm 41, but don't really act it. Take me to a theme park with lots of roller coasters, and I am a babbling fool! (I really, really love roller coasters, The Incredible Hulk at Islands Of Adventure being my very favorite.)
And, Mushy....saying awkward things is a way of life for me!
